Light House Homeless Prevention Support Center

Min Engineering, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design and construction administration for the new 24,000 SF, three story Light House Homeless Prevention Support Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

The LEED Silver project included a teaching kitchen, employment resource room/computer lab, recreation and group meeting room, classroom, library, administrative offices, outdoor playground, healing garden, and segregated restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and lockers, 45 beds, reception, five apartments, family kitchen, dining, and children’s playroom. Design included geothermal heat pumps, energy recovery ventilators, gas-fired domestic hot waters, low water consumption plumbing fixtures, lighting, power distribution, telephone/TV/data cabling, fire alarm, CCTV system, access control, and fire protection system.  

Light House Homeless Prevention Support Center won the 2011 Urban Land  Institue of Baltimore WaveMaker Award.
